Music is a state of mind – Greenday
My friend Jake used to love Greenday in school, it would be right to say that he was the reason I ever listened to them. He had a thing about owning every single album by every band he liked and this was no different when it came to Greenday.
I, however, was given this greatest hits album for christmas when I was 13. This was good enough for me… and still is! I dug it out of my cd collection to bring to Preston for old times sake and me and ryan ran round the room for the whole hour of super hits!
It proper takes me back to when I used to play it full blast in my then dark purple room. Sometimes I consider painting it that dark shade of purple again, but my teal grass-like carpet wouldn’t appreciate it.
I wish… part 29!
I used to be quite the hat-lover but I don’t wear hats as much as I should/could. This summer you will see me in a large number of hats. Not all at once, obviously.
I do like my high waisted shorts! But suede! Ahhh. I love these!
Hallelu have quite a few of these floaty style shirts with different prints on like Sailboats and sweet floral prints. I think they’ll be perfect for summer!
Penny Lane, Almost Famous
One of my favourite films and one of my favourite eras fashion-wise!

7 things I am loving.
1. LISTS!
Anybody else love making lists? I make lists every day. Shopping lists, wish lists, lists of things i need to do, lists of things I want to do. Weekly plans are my favourite. I did one last week of 5 things I need and want to do – jog, go to the library, write blogs, film night and eat out. Each have specific days attached to them and it’s going rather well. In fact it’s going brilliantly. Lists are the best.
2.
I wish Samsung Galaxy S did lovely phone covers like this. Anyone with an Iphone should have this cover, it’s gorgeous!
3. I came back home on wednesday for a few days and the first thing I did was collapse in to this new chair that my parents bought for the living room. (Apparantly they’re redecorating).
This is the comfiest chair I’ve ever sat on and I was glued to it for a straight 6 hours.
4. My dad’s stories of his musical past! Whenever we watch a programme all these memories come back to him. One in particular was how he got tickets from his youth club to see The Beatles do a radio recording in Manchester for the show “Here we go with the N.D.O”. He remembered the songs, what they were wearing etc. So, I searched for it on google. It was quite a specific thing to search for so I was looking for a few minutes when I found this… CLICK HERE Haha, it’s crazy how good my dad’s memory is!
5.
I never get tired of old Sex and the City episodes. I love love love them.
7.
I watched Precious yesterday and was stunned by the poor girls sad life. Brilliantly done though, I may even go and read the book now!
Music is a state of mind – Carole King Tapestry
I think I was about 10 when my dad gave me this album on cd and said “you are carole king” I was never sure what he meant by this, but usually he means voice-wise cause we have the same vocal range. But then, I don’t really sound like her, ha! Who knows? I loved the album though and when I was looking through my dad’s records I found this so I brought it back to Uni.
With my feet on the dash, the world doesn’t matter
7 things I am loving.
1. The new video for Ellie Goulding’s single Lights.
It’s been quite a long time since I enjoyed a music video visually, possibly years. The colours! I also really like Ellie’s style/look.
2.
I watched ‘The Betty Driver Story’ on Tuesday night and fell in love with her. She was and is an amazing woman. So sad to hear that since her sister, and best friend, died 2 years ago she pretty much feels alone. But it was lovely to see that she had such a good relationship with her regardless (or maybe because?) of their parents seemingly selfish nature.

French films! It’s the 2nd week of lessons and on a tuesday I have a lesson for a straight 3 hours, something which I think no matter the topic can slowly kill you inside. This week though we watched around 20 different french film clips. Love ittt!!
4.
Yes, that is Alexa Chung. Who knew she was such an… erm… good actress…
5.During my time out from Uni work I have fallen in love with we heart it again. Because of this and many current blog posts I have become really excited for summer. So I am putting together a post of all my favourite summer pictures and I’m loving every second!
6.
Aaawwww! Is this the cutest thing?? Or is it just me that thinks this?
7. Loving the fact that we don’t have a freezer – when we buy a tub of ice cream we have to finish the whole thing! Teehee, I don’t feel guilty.
Music is a state of mind – Sam Cooke
On monday while we were getting arty, we listened to Sam Cooke. My mum loooves Sam Cooke and though she rarely plays music at home, whenever she actually does it’s usually his music she plays so it’s nice to hear when I’m at uni.
Blue shorts and inspiring our hearts.
Yesterday was inspire your heart with art day. So we did a Stephanie B-esque art day and bought paint, glitter glue and 2 hardback books from a pound shop. I also had felt tips and crayons.
And today I have felt anything but inspired.
